Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1943. They began as a small machine shop initially employing 4 people. Product sales for their first year of operation amounted to about sixty thousand dollars. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless-steel valves, pipe fittings and other parts. Through five years of operation, the company had expanded to forty employees and their annual sales volume had risen to $330,000. Today, Cascade is one of the leading international makers in the material handling business.
Design and production of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder allowed this new business to aggressively engage in new business opportunities. Throughout the last sixty years, the business of material handling has grown into a really complex field with Cascade proudly playing a part in its growth. Cascade at the moment continues to grow as the leader supplier of lift truck accessories and numerous related items. The business feels confident in their ability in order to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding client's needs in the future and remaining aggressive in the international market.
During the 1950's, Cascade began to manufacture, design, and promote its hydraulic accessories. A new facility was made in 1956, to house all of the plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which is still the company's current center of operations. Subsequent to fifteen years of business, total staff reached a hundred and eighty employees and sales had reached almost $2,300,000.
A second manufacturing plant was built in the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. The year 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary move into the international world of the material handling industry as the business established interest in Australia, the Netherlands and England.
In the year 1964, the company changed its name to the Cascade Corporation. After that in 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Since then the business has expanded its manufacturing facilities throughout the continental US to the places Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already present plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade products are manufactured globally thanks to numerous subsidiary operations. In 1994, a brand new plant was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European control center. This plant is made to be the ultimate customer support centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in the year 1996 and the year 1997 after acquiring 5 firms, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the worldwide leader in blades.
